Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. -Walt Disney
Meet the Robinsons Headcanon:
When Wilbur was young he was the kid that always asked too many questions. His father never let Wilbur think that he was asking dumb or annoying questions, even when Wilbur was in the “Why?” stage. Every time his son asked a question, he would respond, “That is an excellent question!” even when he didn’t know or couldn’t provide an answer.
Wilbur eventually outgrew the questioning phase, but remembers how his father always treated his questions as important. This is why in the movie Wilbur responds to Lewis’ question the same way Cornelius did with his. Because he understands that Lewis would question things and Wilbur couldn’t tell him the truth.
It becomes full circle when Lewis grows into Cornelius and tells his son “That is an excellent question!” for the first time.
